In January 2017 bflowTM was asked by Homecare Magazine to participate is an article on market analysis. They cut out much of what we had to say.  Here’s the full contribution from bflow done by Pamela Haglund, bflowTM Sr. Manager.

Please briefly describe your company’s product line related to the billing and software services industry. What makes your products stand out in the industry?

    • bflowTM Solutions, Inc. is a healthcare technology company and the developer of bflowTM   (Business Flow) business management software for DME/HME companies.  We built bflowTM from scratch because we saw an opportunity back in 2010 to revolutionize DME software.  Our goal was to bring best practices utilized by the largest hospital networks to manage billing and A/R into a fully automated and easy to learn software package.  bflowTM is a standout because we significantly shrink our customers overhead with integrated mobile delivery, document management, billing, payment posting, eligibility, PECOS, fax, audit, inventory, reporting, competitive bidding, compliance and more, in one standard software package at an extremely competitive price.

2. What trends or changes do you see on the horizon in the billing and software services industry in 2017? How do you plan to adjust for these changes?

    • All of the changes and trends that we see on the horizon for 2017 make a steep impact on the bottom line — from the increase in audits with lengthy appeals processes to the continued expansion of competitive bidding and the decreases in reimbursement.  Each of the negative trends converge to the same result — increased overhead and decreased revenue. bflowTM is committed to developing and automating processes that counteract these trends and not only protect current revenue but result in increased profits.  Processes currently being implemented and automated include a deep dive into appeals, audit management and payer specific automation.

3.  What is one way your company plans to stay competitive and successful in the billing and software services market in the coming year? For example, this may include a recently introduced product or a new service.

    • The key to bflowTM  success and leadership in the billing and software services market comes from not just keeping up with the trends, but anticipating and staying ahead of the trends. bflowTM is an industry leader in automating many of the processes that in the software of our competitors requires user input.  Automation  reduces overhead as well as reduces error rates which are the triggers for many of the audits and recoupments that occur.  In addition, bflowTM is pleased to integrate with several other industry leaders to help the customer effectively control and use all tools related to patient care from one application.

4.  What challenges are impacting HME and other health care providers in the healthcare industry overall, and how are your billing and software services products helping them meet those challenges?

    • The biggest challenges impacting HME and other healthcare providers in the healthcare industry overall is the increased overhead with declining reimbursements.  It is imperative to provide software that addresses these needs and is affordable while reducing overhead.  The healthcare providers are also challenged with keeping up with the changes, the rules, updated policies and industry changes. bflowTM strives not only to provide tools to accommodate these needs but to also be a resource and educational tool ensuring that our customers are always “in the loop” and are not caught off guard. Whether through providing informative material or educating providers on how to effectively and correctly bill for services and items given to the customer, bflowTM strives to be the number one resource for all aspects of their customers’ needs.  In addition, our advanced workflow solution guarantees providers that they know the status of all their orders/claims at any point in time ensuring that all potential revenue is accounted for.
